The Lifeboat Ale & Cider House in Margate News

Greetings Ale Lovers,

Yet another record breaking performance from Maidstone's finest son the excellent Mr Goacher: his Fine Light ale sold out in one evening. Please give yourselves a big pat on the back for consommation fantastique.

The Lifeboat Supporting The Arts

On Friday 2nd July we are pleased to announce our support for a free exhibition and talk at Marine Studios (01843 282219 / www.marinestudios.co.uk), 17 Albert Terrace, Margate CT9 1UJ from 6pm. A supply of Fine Local Ale will be available for sampling. On the agenda is a talk by Tristan Gooley who has flown and sailed singlehandedly across the Atlantic - as heard on BBC Radio 4, and an exhibition of sculpture, maps and charts by celebrated Kent artist Paula Groves.

Ale And Cider

The range continues to expand apace with a welcome new arrival from Whitstable Brewery namely their exciting new Renaissance Mild - on service late week. Also look out for new brew Silver Star from Goachers, bittered entirely from Kentish hops. Fits nicely with our policy Think Local, Buy Local.

Apart from that expect to see Goacher's Gold Star Pale Ale 5.1%, Best Dark 4.1% and Fine Light 3.7%, Gadds' Seasider 4.3%, Dr Sunshine's Special Friendly Kentish Wheat Beer 4.2% and Dogbolter Porter 5.6%. Cider and Perry remain unchanged.

Friday Night Seafood

After the spectacular success of dressed crab and 1/2 lobster, we're back to tasty basics with in- season whelks.

World Cup Football

A big welcome to Brock who has joined the merry band of football watchers. The remaining England matches will be shown here on our small to medium sized HDTV. Let's hope our boys can go "all the way". Grumpy football haters still welcome to sit out the back.

For newcomers we are on www.thelifeboat-margate.com / Facebook "The Lifeboat Ale And Cider House Margate" and "ale cider" / Twitter "aleandcider".

Cheers

Julian
