Weekly newsletter from The Lifeboat Ale And Cider House Margate

Margate, 3 July, 2010
Greetings Ale Lovers,
Welcome to another  edition of our light-hearted yet informative
weekly newsletter from The Lifeboat Ale And Cider House Margate,
www.thelifeboat-margate.com, Facebook Ale Cider / The Lifeboat Ale And
Cider House Margate
CAMRA Charity Presentation Evening
Taking place here on Wednesday 7 July from 7.30pm Thanet CAMRA will be
presenting a cheque to the RNLI to celebrate the 150th anniversary of
Margate Lifeboat Station. The Lifeboat Station in Margate has always
been a vital aspect of local life with over 10 awards for gallantry
and also sadly 10 crew making the ultimate sacrifice. Please come and
support the evening and take a moment to make your own donation.
Ale And Cider
This week we shall mostly be serving Goacher's Fine Light 3.7% and
Silver Star 4.2%, Gadds' Doctor Sunshine's 4.2%, Wantsum Dynamo 4.6%
and Whistable Brewery Renaissance Ruby Mildn3.8%, but not necessarily
in that order. Cider and Perry remain unchanged.
Food
In the name of innovation and progress we are now serving super-sized
Ramsgate sausages in fresh Margate bread (from Aquinis Continental
Bakery in Upper Dane Road). Cooking will take place before your very
eyes. We continue to serve the complete range of Canterbury cheeses
(to consume with bread or water biscuits at your whim) and Grandma's
pickles and chutnies.
Seafood Friday
Back this Friday due to popular demand will be dressed crab from
Broadstair's most excellent fishmonger Jason at Fruits de Mer.
Football
After yet another credibility building week of dross from the England
camp in keeping the losing manager etc etc, the question has to be
asked: is the FA fit to run England football? Is there not a conflict
of interest in that they also run the Premier League and so have no
will to change the status quo. FIFA are no better: resisting new
technology and the introduction of the "penalty goal" as in rugby.
Despair.
Come and watch the World Cup Final here (whenever that is).
Cheers
Julian
